A Guide for UNLV Students and Local Residents
If you’re living in Las Vegas, you’ve probably spotted a flyer on campus, scrolled past a post online, or heard a friend mention sperm donation as a real way to make extra money. At Las Vegas Sperm Bank, we’re here to confirm: it’s legitimate, it matters, and yes—it pays well. But donating is more than just a side hustle.
Whether you’re a student at UNLV, working in the city’s fast-paced hospitality industry, or building your career in the valley, becoming a sperm donor gives you a unique opportunity to help families in need—all while receiving valuable health insights and earning a consistent income.
With more couples and individuals turning to fertility clinics to grow their families, the demand for healthy, dependable donors is higher than ever. But here’s the reality: we maintain strict standards, and only about 1% of applicants are approved.
So, what does it take to qualify? Here’s what you need to know before applying to Las Vegas Sperm Bank.
Who Can Apply To Become A Sperm Donor?
We’re looking for applicants who meet these requirements:
- You’re between 18 and 39 years old
This is the optimal age range for reproductive health. Many of our donors are students at UNLV, recent graduates, or professionals working throughout the Las Vegas metro area. - You live a healthy lifestyle
We’re not looking for bodybuilders, but we do want applicants who stay active, eat reasonably well, avoid smoking, and limit heavy drug or alcohol use. Your lifestyle directly impacts sperm quality, and that’s a big factor in our screening process. - You live near Las Vegas
Our lab is located conveniently in the city, and we require in-person visits multiple times per week. For students living on or near campus or young professionals downtown, it’s easy to fit donation appointments into your weekly routine.
The Screening Process: What to Expect
Donating sperm isn’t something you’re approved for overnight. The process is designed to protect your health, as well as the families and future children you’ll be helping.
Here’s what it involves:
- Personal & Family History Questionnaire
You’ll provide detailed information about your background, health, lifestyle, and education. This builds the foundation of your donor profile. - Physical Exam & Sample Testing
We’ll perform a physical, collect blood and urine samples, and analyze your sperm for count, motility, and overall health. - Genetic Screening
A major benefit of applying—you’ll get access to genetic testing that many people never receive. Donors often tell us this is one of the most valuable parts of the process. - Interview & Final Evaluation
We’ll meet with you in person to talk about your motivations, answer your questions, and ensure you fully understand the commitment.
How Much Can You Earn?
Once accepted, donors can contribute up to three times per week. Each approved donation earns $100, which can add up to around $1,500 per month.
That kind of money goes a long way—whether you’re covering textbooks at UNLV, rent near The Strip, paying off student loans, or saving for weekend getaways. Many donors enjoy the flexibility of earning steady income while making a meaningful impact.
And that’s the real takeaway: your donations give families the chance to experience something they couldn’t achieve without you.
What’s the Time Commitment?
We ask donors to commit to at least six months in the program and donate at least once a week. Consistency is essential—especially for families who may want to use the same donor if they plan for more than one child.
Most of our donors say the weekly visits are easy to fit into their schedules, whether they’re balancing college classes, work in hospitality, or starting their careers downtown.
How Long Does It Take to Get Approved?
The process from application to approval usually takes 3–4 weeks. It includes several steps and on-site visits, but our staff keeps it simple and supportive throughout.
It takes some patience, but the end result is a rewarding, low-stress way to earn extra income while helping others achieve their dream of starting a family.
Is This a Good Fit for You?
You may be a strong candidate if:
- You’re 18–39 years old and live in or near Las Vegas, Henderson, or North Las Vegas.
- You’re healthy and curious about your reproductive and genetic wellness.
- You want a steady income with a greater purpose.
- You’re dependable and open to a 6–12 month commitment.
Whether you’re studying at UNLV, working on the Strip, or simply looking for something more meaningful than another gig app, sperm donation could be the right opportunity for you.
